MCL, Inc., a subsidiary of MITEQ Inc., was founded in 1961 as a
design and manufacturing organization specializing in coaxial and
waveguide components. In 1975 the company designed and
manufactured its first high power Klystron amplifier for satellite
communications. From that time to present, MCL has designed,
manufactured and delivered thousands of high power amplifiers for
satellite uplink and other microwave applications. Throughout
MCLs history, MCL has continuously introduced new-design
power amplifiers to the product line while continuing to offer
existing amplifiers using traveling wave tube technology. All
products manufactured by MCL are original designs. In May 2000,
MCL was acquired, in total, by MITEQ Inc. of Hauppauge, New York.
The world headquarters of MCL is located in Bolingbrook,
Illinois, which is 40 miles (64 kilometers) southwest of downtown
Chicago. The MCL designed facility is a modern, two-story building
with 124,000 square feet (12,105 square meters) of floor space.
Approximately 80,000 square feet (7,432 square meters) is devoted
to product manufacturing. The facility is equipped with
state-of-the art design hardware/software for product engineering,
advanced RF test instrumentation, modern assembly areas and
equipment, and a complete machine/fabrication shop. An extensive
prime power system provides for testing at any AC line
voltage/frequency in use globally. A liquid cooling system is
available for testing of liquid cooled high power amplifier
systems.
About 30% of the personnel are involved in engineering or
related technical activities. In addition, MCL is represented by
an extensive global network of distributors and representatives.
Customer service is available from MCL, 7 days a week, 24 hours a
day. Global service centers and representatives provide
regionalized international support.
Presently, MCL offers high power amplifiers and redundant
systems in the frequency ranges from C-Band (5.725 GHz) to Ka-Band
(31.0 GHz). RF power levels range from 200 watts at the low end to
more than 2500 watts at the high end for standard commercial
products. Non-commercial and special products have been delivered
providing RF power levels of 10,000 watts or more. Configurations
are offered for fixed, antenna mount, transportable and mobile
applications.
